Question: What is Restinn?
Answer: A Restinn (an exclusive design of architect Henry Leloup) is a double detached residence on the farm with all the comforts of a three star hotel. The hotel cabins are invariably placed in the farmyard. So you will always have a wonderful view of the nature or farmland. Each location has a small set of hotel cabins. The attractive venues each accommodate up to six each cabins and offer complete privacy and tranquility.
The Restinns are fully equipped including:
- Two single beds (sprung mattress, incl. bed linen)
- Shower and toilet (towels available)
- Cosy sitting area
- Well stocked mini-bar
- In-room coffee and tea facilities
- Dining area
- Television with a wide range of channels
- Internet access free of charge (you need to bring you own laptop)
- Own terrace with sitting area and open view
Question: Where are the Restinn hotel cabins located?
Answer: The hotel cabins are invariably placed in the farmyard. You always have a wonderful view of the nature or farmland. You will find locations of Restinn in: Noord-Holland (Aartswoud, Andijk, Medemblik, Warmenhuizen and Oosterleek), Groningen (Bourtange) and Drenthe (Emmen and Coevorden). Each location has a small set of hotel cabins. The attractive venues accommodate up to six hotel cabins each and offer complete privacy and tranquility.
Question: How big are the Restinn hotel cabins?
Answer: The Restinn hotel cabins are approximately 30 m² (about 320 square feet) and consist of one space. There is no seperate bedroom or kitchen.
Question: Are there four-person Restinn hotel cabins?
Answer: Unfortunately not. Restinn does not have four-person cabins. The hotel cabins are suitable for 2 people and one child up to 12 years. For a third bed (suitable for children under 12 years) you pay approximately € 22,50 per night.
Question: Can a third bed be added?
Answer: The Restinn hotel cabins are suitable for two people. Placing an additional bed for children under 12 years. The third bed is not an additional bed box spring, keep this in mind. The third bed includes bed linen and there will also be taken care of extra towels. For the third bed, you pay approximately € 22,50 per night. It is also possible to rent a cot (for children up to 3 years) that costs € 7,50 per stay.
Question: How big are the boxspring beds?
Answer: The beds in your hotel cabin are extra long (2.10 meters). For an extra bed please contact your hostess/host. This will hold an additional charge.
Question: Are bed linen and towels present in the Restinn hotel cabin?
Answer: Yes, bed linen and towels are provided in the Restinn hotel cabins. The cabins are like hotel room. They are cleaned several times a week.
Question: Is it allowed to smoke in the hotel cabin?
Answer: No, smoking is not permitted in the Restinn hotel cabins. You are kindly requested to smoke outside, and please place your cigarettes in the available ashtray.
Question: Is an Internet connection available in the Restinn hotel cabin?
Answer: Yes, there is free Internet connection and you will need to bring your own laptop. There is no laptop or any other kind of computer in the hotel cabin. You can connect your laptop easily by cable. You will find the connection to the data box under your TV. Free WiFi is also provided.
Question: Can I watch TV in the Restinn hotel cabin?
Answer: Yes, the Restinn hotel cabins all have a television with a wide range of channels. In your Restinn you will find a list of the receivable TV channels. The instructions of the TV are at the back of the guest map (present in your Restinn).
Question: What is a Japanese toilet?
Answer: The toilets (only Restinn Aartswoud and Warmenhuizen) are equipped with a so-called Japanese toilet. This cleans your lower body with water at 38 ° C. Then your skin is dried with hot air. You can use the seat using the buttons on the side of the toilet seat. The operation of this panel is very clear and easy to use. You can also find a manual in the guest map Restinn in your room.
Question: Can I park my car or bike park at the Restinn hotel cabin?
Answer: Each location offers parking space. You can park your car for free but the parking lots are not covered. It is not possible to park your car close to your hotel cabin.

Question: Are the Restinn hotel cabins available for wheelchair users?
Answer: Yes, the Restinn hotel cabins are available for wheelchair users. Restinn hotel cabins are on the ground floor. Restinn hotel cabins have a wide front door without a threshold and are perfectly accessible for wheelchair users. Keep in mind that the shower and toilet doors are not wide!
Question: I want to take my dog (pet) with me, can I?
Answer: Because of the risk of transferable diseases animals, dogs and other pets are not allowed in Restinn Aartswoud, Andijk and Meppen. Dogs are allowed in Restinn Warmenhuizen, Oosterleek, Bourtange and Medemblik at an additional cost of € 7.50 per night.
Question: I am planning a group visit, is that possible?
Answer: Groups are welcome at Restinn. Keep in mind that there are only 5 or 6 hotel cabins available per location. Avoid disappointment and book far in advance. Restinn Bourtange and Warmenhuizen are equipped with areas particularly suitable for groups. They also organize various group activities.
Question: Can I also dine in the Restinn?
Answer: The unique "Dining-Inn" Basically means, you can enjoy a 2 or 3 course dinner. The host / hostess will provide this meal and bring it to your hotel cabin. The costs are € 22.50 for a 2 course meal and € 27.50 for a 3 course meal this is per person. Dining-Inn is possible every evening between 18:30 hours and 20:30 hours. If you would like to dine in please contact your host / hostess before 11:00 hours in the morning to let him / her know your wishes. You can choose between meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Question: I am a vegetarian. Is it still possible to dine in?
Answer: The hostess / host takes will take your special diets into account such as low salt, gluten, cow milk free, but also vegetarians, if you let her / him know in time. We do not charge extra for special meals.
Question: Is there a restaurant at the Restinn locations?
Answer: The Restinn locations do not have a restaurant on site (with the exception of Restinn Bourtange). There is a professional kitchen equipped for the preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals are served in your own Restinn hotel cabin (or terrace). Your hostess / host can recommend nearby restaurants.
Question: Is room service available?
Answer: The meals (breakfast and, if requested. Lunches and dinners) will be served in your own Restinn room (or terrace).
Question: How can I use "Dining-Inn"?
Answer: The unique "Dining-Inn" Basically means, you can enjoy a 2 or 3 course dinner. The costs are € 22.50 for a 2 course and € 27.50 for a 3 course dinner. This price is per person. Dining-Inn is possible, every evening between 18:30 hours and 20:30 hours. If you would like to dine in please contact your host / hostess before 11:00 hours in the morning to let him / her know your wishes. You can choose between meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Question: How can I let the host / hostess know my dining wishes?
Answer: When booking you can choose a 2 or 3 course dinner. Cost respectively € 22.50 and € 27.50 per person. This "Dining-inn" service is available every evening, between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm. Please order your dinner directly with your booking, by phone or e-mail. You can choose any of the carefully selected meat- fish- or vegetarian dishes on the menu.
Question: Can I eat and drink food and drinks I brought myself?
Answer: The hostess / host will provide a delicious Dutch breakfast each morning. There is a Mini-bar (refrigerator) present with an extensive assortment of drinks, a wide range of fruit, snacks and sweets (at moderate prices). In your Restinn hotel cabin you can also use a coffee machine (Senseo) and kettle, including coffee pods and tea bags. It is greatly appreciated if you do not bring your own food / drinks with you. You hostess / host will gladly serve you lunch and dinner.
Question: What does a well-stocked minibar contain?
Answer: All Restinn hotel cabins have a fully stocked refrigerated mini-bar with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. In your hotel cabin you will find wines of good quality and a wide range of fruit, snacks and sweets for your appetite (all at moderate prices ). You can discuss any additional requirements with your hostess / host. Moreover, each Restinn hotel cabin has free coffee and tea (including tea bags and coffee pads).
Question: The law does not allow alcohol to persons under 16 years old and no liquor under 18 years old. What is seen as liquor?
Answer: All (mixed) drinks with an alcohol or an alcoholic base of over 15%.
Question: How do I book multiple locations?
Answer: If you want to book more than one location, you should call our reservation line +31 20 460 9 150 or send an e-mail with the desired locations, number of persons and the period.
Question: Can I take an option on staying at Restinn?
Answer: You can take an option on a room for a specified period (up to one week) as decided by us. This will be entirely free.
Question: How can I book additional services such as bike rental, baby cot, workshops, etc.?
Answer: Additional services and and your wishes can be booked during the reservation (online). All extras will have to be paid by cash and will not be on the invoice unless you indicate early.
Question: I want to extend/change my stay is this possible?
Answer: Of course you can extend and / or modify your reservation until days before the first arrival. When extending your stay, we will not charge an extra booking fee. Question: Can I cancel a reservation without charge?
Answer: All reservations are subjected to the terms of Restinn (derived in a uniform manner of Koninklijke Horeca Netherlands from September 1998). If canceled, the following applies:
- If you cancel more than one month before the Commencement Date, the Customer is not required to pay any money to Restinn BV. Restinn will have to refund a fee to be deducted for administrative costs (€ 17.50).
- If you cancel more than 12 days before the commencement date, the customer will have to pay 15% of the reservation price to Restinn BV.
- With cancellation more than 7 days before the commencement date, the customer pays 35% of the reservation price to Restinn BV.
- With cancellation more than 7 days before the commencement date, the customer pays 60% of the reservation price to Restinn BV.
- If you cancel 24 hours or less before the commencement date, the customer will have to pay 85% of the reservation price to Restinn BV.
In case of a no-show, the customer will be required to pay the reservation price in all cases. You need a cancellation in writing and dated to send Restinn BV. A verbal Cancellation can serve you no rights.
Question: I have no credit card, can I still book online?
Answer: You can also book online if you do not have a credit card. You can choose to make your reservation by bank transfer or PayPal payments. Bank details are on the bill. If this cannot be offered, you can reach us at +31 20 460 9 150 or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Question: I have already paid for my stay online. How do I count on extra services such as bike rental, cot, workshops and so on?
Answer: The payment for the night is done online at least 2 days before arrival. The invoice for the meals, drinks and snacks can be found on the morning of departure. You can pay this bill using a debit card (not at Restinn Medemblik and Aartswoud) or charges can be paid cash. Credit cards are only accepted at Restinn Andijk.
Question: How do I book a special Restinn package?
Answer: You will find our actual packages and special offers listed on our website. These can be booked online. In case you have other requirements, please send an an e-mail to email@example.com with the number of guests, the desired location and your special requirements. You may expect our response within one working day. For an immediate response, call our reservation line on +31 20 460 9 150.
Question: I want to book a stay at Restinn as a surprise for someone else and I want to keep it a secret. Is that possible?
Answer: Yes, if you make the reservation under your own name, the confirmation and invoice will be send to you (by email). If you do not want to book online, you can reach our reservation line on +31 20 460 9 150 or send us an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you want to surprise someone with a pre-paid night, you may consider our Cheque Inn (Restinn voucher). The are available at € 85,00 and can be exchanged for a one night stay for 2 persons (incl. breakfast) at every Restinn location when available.
Question: When should I check in and out?
Answer: You can check in between 14:30 and 19:00 hours. Early or late arrival is only possible in consultation with the hostess / host. You can find the contact details on the reservation. Check out is up until 11:00 hours, at a later departure, an additional day is charged.
Question: I want to arrive later than 19:00, can I?
Answer: You can check in between 14:30 and 19:00 hours and check out by 11.00 hours. Arrive later is only possible in consultation with the hostess / host. You can find the contact details on the reservation.
Question: What is Restinn en route?
Answer: With Restinn en route you can pick your own route along the West Friese- Omringdijk. Compose and determine for yourself which locations fit in your route. All Restinn locations are located directly on the beautiful bike and walking trails in North Holland, such as the West Friese-Omringdijk. They have an average spacing of about 20 km.

Question: Why is tourist tax being charged?
Answer: tax (Article 224 Municipalities) is levied because the municipality incurs costs for construction, management and maintenance of facilities (also) for Tourists benefit. Every municipality may levy taxes, but not all municipalities do that. The municipalities where Restinn is located calculate tourist tax. The costs may be variable per location.
Question: Where can I buy “Blôte Biene Bitter”(spicy liqueur)?
Answer: Blôte Biene Bitter is only available at Restinn Aartswoud.
