The hotel houses of Restinn Bourtange are in the yard of tavern-restaurant "de Staakenborgh". Bourtange is located in the area Westerwolde (Groningen).
The owners are Wim Swart and Alie Harkes. In the 90's they came from the busy Westside of the country to the province of Groningen for the beautiful scenery, tranquillity and space you can find here. In the completely restored Saxon tavern the enterprising pair runs a restaurant, rooms and group accommodation.
At the edge of the yard there are 5 Restinn hotel cabins. You look out over the fields as far as Germany, which creates a sense of adventure!

Upon arrival at "De Staakenborgh" Wim and Alie will warmly welcome you. They hand you the key and will do everything to make you feel comfortable. So feel free to ask any questions you have about the accommodation or the environment. We wish you a nice stay. Good to know Checking in and out: You can check in between 14.30 and 19.00 hours at your Restinn. Late arrival is possible but please Wim and Alie. Check out time is no later than 11:00 am. With a later departure, an additional day will be charged. Car and bicycle: Plenty of free parking. Bicycle storage and charging point available. Rental and activities: Rental of bikes. Activities: Games at the attic of the restaurant. Wheelchair friendly: Restinn cabins are wheelchair accessible thanks to their wide entrance and the absence of thresholds. Please note that the shower and toilet area do not have the same wide entrance! The of the Staakenborgh are particularly suitable for disabled people.Pets: Dogs are allowed at this location (€ 7.50 per night). There is plenty of space for your pet to play and run about. Group accommodation The Restinn at this location is perfect for a . The Restinns can be rented in combination with the rooms and group accommodation. For groups up to 22 people " de Staakenborgh" has all it needs to have an active and successful fun weekend. There is something for everyone: at the attic of the restaurant amuse young and old can amuse themselves with wooden world games, various board games, puzzles and (comic) books. Outside there is a volleyball court and especially for the children there is a playground around the farm with go-karts, playground equipment, ponies, chickens and a goose. 15 bicycles are available for rent. The group accommodations are self-catering. If you don't feel like cooking for your group? No problem. Every evening we serve delicious dishes at the restaurant. The area of Westerwolde is perfect for a nice walk or bike ride. In your Restinn cabin, you will find all the information you need on the different trails and routes On the website of tourist info you will find plenty of information about the cycling and hiking trails and other attractions nearby. Breakfast Dining-inn Feel free to take a good look at the specialty of the house "Hanneke Maaier", lamb in the hay. In former times, Hannekemaaiers were workers coming from Germany to mow the corn. Lamb was cooked in a hay box, hence the name hay. A real beer from Groningen, the Grunn, makes the meal complete.
